Three days. One big celebration. And a whole lot going on in the heart of Airlie Beach.
The Great Barrier Reef Festival is back for another big weekend of reef, music, colour, creativity and community. It’s where locals and visitors come together to celebrate the Great Barrier Reef, enjoy the best of Airlie Beach and have a pretty good time while they’re at it.
Friday night is all about kicking things off with the Night Markets, Eat Street, live entertainment and the Lantern Parade lighting up the waterfront, before the night ends with a spectacular fireworks display over the Coral Sea.
Saturday brings the action to the streets with Revvin’ the Reef, showcasing everything from classic cars and hot rods to bikes and more, followed by live entertainment and the colourful Street Parade through the heart of Airlie Beach.
Then it’s time to slow things down… sort of.
Sunday brings the Family Fun Day with reef activities, entertainment and plenty to keep the little ones busy, before the Recyclable Regatta takes to the water with homemade vessels, big ideas and questionable seaworthiness.
Across the weekend, there’ll be live music, reef-inspired art, markets, food, entertainment and plenty of ways to get involved.
Come for the reef. Stay for the fireworks. Cheer on the regatta. Dance in the streets. Bring the kids. Bring your mates. Or just come along for a great weekend in Airlie Beach.
